Influenza Vaccine Rule

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is working on a Board of Health rule to require all licensed healthcare facilities to develop a policy to provide or make available influenza vaccine for all healthcare workers beginning September 2012. At the last stakeholder meeting on 9/1 to review the current rule draft, CDPHE agreed to revise the draft based on community feedback, including incorporating language that requires facilities to conduct an assessment and develop a site-appropriate policy as well as adjusting the definition of healthcare worker to differentiate between workers whose primary work areas are/are not in direct care settings.
