2012 Annual Participation Open Enrollment Period – Every year, Medicare contractors conduct an open participation enrollment period to provide eligible physicians, practitioners and suppliers with an opportunity to make their calendar year Medicare participation decision. Providers who want to maintain their current participation status do not need to take any action during the upcoming annual participation enrollment program. Providers will not be receiving the usual Compact Disk (CD) from TrailBlazer announcing the annual open participation enrollment period. CMS has directed Medicare contactors to produce a postcard mailing, instead of a CD, for eligible physicians, practitioners and suppliers. In early November the postcard announcing the open enrollment period was mailed to eligible physicians, practitioners and suppliers.
