CMS 3-Day Payment Window

On the April 24 CMS Rural Health Open Door Forum, CMS representatives addressed the 3-Day Payment Window and its applicability to CAHs. During the call, CMS clarified the rule applies to CAHs that are wholly owned or operated by another single hospital - the rule does not apply to independent CAHs or those CAHs owned and operated by a system or corporation.
