Course description
The two day Epidemiology and Infection Prevention class will provide a basic foundation of knowledge in infection prevention practices. The course covers disease transmission, prevention and control along with understanding the core concepts for developing a program that addresses regulatory compliance. The outcome of the course will allow those new to infection prevention to have a solid foundation to be more effective in their jobs. Additionally this course will meet the needs as outlined in section 25-3-602(1)(c) C.R.S (from House Bill 06-1045) that indicates that individuals who collect data on hospital-acquired conditions in hospitals licensed for fifty beds or less may meet certification exemption through ongoing education and training.
